We are pleased to introduce Orange Gelée by Vacation®, the finished product born from a joint initiative between Vacation® and a panel of eleven Orange Gelée fans and modern skincare experts.
Throughout the entire journey, the Orange Gelée Advisory Board was with us every step of the way, advising on all aspects of the development process, from scent to ingredients, to SPF level, packaging design, and more. The result is St. Tropez luxury revisited in a modern SPF formula. Stunning. Now, wherever you are, you can close your eyes and imagine yourself on the shores of Côte d'Azur, soaking up the sun (safely, with Orange Gelée by Vacation®).
Introducing Orange Gelée SPF 30 By Vacation®Lovingly created by Vacation® and a panel of eleven original Orange Gelée fans and modern beauty experts.A staple of American and European summers for more than seventy years, the original Orange Gelée was a game-changer in the world of suncare until it was discontinued in 2019. Four years later, Vacation® decided to bring a modern version of the beloved product that honors its legacy while updating its formula with SPF 30 and skin-loving natural oils. We did things differently by collaborating with the Orange Gelée Advisory Board, made up of eleven original fans and modern beauty experts.
How it Came TogetherTHE LOOKWhat The Panel Advised:
Original fans loved the signature orange hue and its application, and they wanted the same glowy sheen in the revived version.
The End Result:
Orange Gelée by Vacation® has a beautiful, rich orange hue but goes on clear and effortlessly rubs in clear on all skin tones, resulting in a lustrous and enviable St. Tropez shine that will turn heads everywhere you go.
THE FEELWhat The Panel Advised:
Texture was important to original Orange Gelée fans, and the Board Members suggested making the new product less greasy than the original.
The End Result:
A moisturized feel without the grease. Instead of outdated ingredients like mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, and octinoxate, we used natural plant-based butters and waxes that provide a hydrating, non-greasy finish. Nourishing shea butter and candelilla wax help to create a luxurious balm-to-oil formula that melts on the skin, leaving it irresistibly soft and silky.
THE SCENTWhat The Panel Advised:
The iconic French Riviera fragrance has lived in fans' memory banks for years. They craved the familiar scent which was described as spicy, musky, and sweet.
The End Result:
Orange Gelée by Vacation® revisits this cherished scent through notes of bergamot, clove, saffron, patchouli, and sandalwood.

THE FORMULAWhat The Panel Advised:
While original Orange Gelée users didn’t pay too much attention to Orange Gelée’s ingredient list back in the day, overall the Board Members liked the idea of a formula filled with ingredients that were good for you and your skin.
The End Result:
A mineral oil-free formula packed with naturally derived ingredients like saffron, bergamot peel, vitamin E, tamanu, coconut, jojoba, and maracuja oils. Packed with antioxidants, these skin-quenching oils give a luxurious sheen while being safe to use in the sun.

THE PACKAGINGWhat The Panel Advised:
Many of our Board Members loved the retro-looking aluminum tube and wanted the new Orange Gelée in a similar vessel. They liked the idea of a nostalgic design that would resonate with them as much as the formula and scent.
